Adam Seifer is a repeat entrepreneur with a great interest in online social dynamics. He was a co-founder of Fotolog, a pioneering international photo-sharing community that encouraged people to share little updates on their lives via images. He was also part of the team that launched sixdegrees.com, the first major online social network.
Abby Schneiderman is a repeat entrepreneur who loves finding ways to use technology to make people’s lives better. Prior to co-founding Everplans, Abby was a Principal at Tipping Point Partners, a NYC start-up incubator, where she was part of the team that launched several businesses, including AppOrchard, an iOS consultancy for the enterprise, and Cookstr, a recipe-driven nutritional technology company. In 2004, Abby co-founded Haystack Media, one of the first music social networks.
Ammon Brown has spent over a dozen years immersed in the digital media world. From bootstrapped start-ups to multimillion ad spends, he has attacked the industry from nearly every angle. He has worked for a variety of companies including Google, Yodle, OMD, and TRAFFIQ. As a quantitative creative, he loves measuring the impact of each creative spark.
William Charnock, Chief Strategy Officer at R/GA, unites a unique combination of strategic thinking and business innovation for the agency. Since joining R/GA in January 2010, he has been involved in many successful client initiatives, including developing IBM’s fortune-changing e-business campaign and defining the strategy that took Compaq to global brand leadership. Before joining R/GA, William was the co-head of strategy at JWT New York, where he significantly expanded the strategy group and was responsible for developing several landmark advertising solutions for brands such as HSBC, Johnson & Johnson, JetBlue, Cadbury, and Domino’s. He also pioneered a strategic innovation group that partnered with venture capitalists to identify opportunities for entrepreneurs to work with global brands. William pursues innovation in the communications industry and business at large.
Warren Habib has been working with technology for over 25 years and in internet startups since the late 1990s. After working as VP Engineering at Solbright, an SAAS company creating workflow systems for online advertising, from 1999 to 2005, he left to join Adam Seifer at Fotolog as CTO. He scaled Fotolog to be one of the highest trafficked websites on the Internet at that time. From 2008 to 2011, he was SVP of Online Platform Development at MTV Networks. He returned to the startup world as CTO of XGraph, an online advertising firm that built custom audiences for advertisers using Big Data. XGraph was acquired in late 2011 by AddThis, where Warren served as SVP of Data Technology in charge of infrastructure. He left at the beginning of 2013 and is now living the life as a CTO adviser to several startups, offering unwanted advice in generous quantities.
Michael Herman is an expert in the Financial Services industry having worked as an SVP with Merrill Lynch in their Private Wealth Management division, and as the sole member of private equity-based trading firm. He is passionate about developing unique business strategies that focus on solidifying customer relationships, retention, organic growth, revenue generation and brand awareness.
Adam Lee has 15 years of experience as a software engineer with a concentration on helping startups scale successfully, having worked at a very diverse group of companies including Fotolog, turntable.fm, Gilt Groupe and Patch. Though he is passionate about software from his primary focus on software architecture to an academic interest in language/compiler design and type theory, he also has strong interests in product design and process management, always working towards delivering the best possible end product.
Elizabeth Meyer is an expert in planning personalized funeral services, and hopes to make funeral planning a less taboo, more approachable subject. After planning a unique funeral for her own father in 2006, she joined Frank E. Campbell funeral home in New York City as Family Services Liaison, where she served Campbell’s and Riverside Memorial Chapel helping families create exceptional, tailored services. She earned an MBA from Cass Business School in London and a BA from New York University.
Gene Newman has spent the past 15 years in the digital space including serving as the editor-in-chief/editorial director of Maxim.com, Hachette Filipacchi Digital (including Elle.com, WomansDay.com and Premiere.com) and other entertainment/lifestyle properties. He brings his significant experience creating compelling content sites, while at the same time making serious issues more manageable and approachable.
Hugh Richardson Prior to joining Everplans Hugh worked as a software engineer in both the media field, at Patch, and education, with CollegeNET in Oregon. He earned an MS from Montana State University, where he also enjoyed skiing.
Kevin J. Aniskovich specializes in product development and market strategy and has been engaged to assist in the product, marketing and commercialization of Everplans. Aniskovich has founded and sold three companies and most recently was the Chief Innovation Officer of Sharecare, responsible for product strategy and operations. In 2005, Aniskovich founded and was the Chief Executive Officer of Intelecare Compliance Solutions, a healthcare technology company focused on increasing medication adherence and provided services to over 12 million patients.
Jennifer Newman is a marketing and communications professional who is interested in the convergence of healthcare and technology. Jen formerly spent nine years as head of corporate communications at WebMD and has held agency positions.
Lauren Thaler Kahn is the founder of Punchwell Press, an editorial content and copywriting company. Her background is in consulting and advertising, with a focus on technology and healthcare. Lauren is particularly passionate about Everplans having lost both her parents to cancer. In 2010, faced with the challenges of care for her terminally ill mother, funeral logistics and estate planning, Lauren became intimately familiar with the need for a full-service resource about death. Lauren received her MBA at Wharton and her BA from Brown University.
Jeff Belkora is a faculty member at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He runs a patient support program at the medical center there, helping people weigh the risks and benefits of their treatment options. Dr. Belkora also advises other organizations implementing decision support programs around the United States and abroad. He has been hailed as a leading innovator by the Mayo Clinic and the US Department of Health and Human Services. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family and friends; plays soccer and basketball; and writes songs. His professional mission is to help people grow through better leadership, teamwork, and decision making.
David J. McCabe is the senior partner and Chair of the Private Clients Group of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in New York. He specializes in all aspects of estate planning and administration, with emphasis on the development of sophisticated plans for high-net-worth individuals and their families. For more than 30 years, Mr. McCabe has taken a holistic approach to his work, and he excels at guiding his clients through the complexities of estate planning and estate and trust administration.
Dr. Archelle Georgiou is a storyteller, a physician, a former healthcare industry executive, and a data geek. Most importantly, she is a zealot about helping people understand how to navigate the healthcare system and advocate for their health. In 2008, Dr. Georgiou founded Georgiou Consulting, a strategic healthcare consulting firm that helps companies grow by translating their complex medical information and data into simple, compelling stories and messages. Prior to founding her consulting practice, Dr. Georgiou spent 13 years as an executive with UnitedHealth Group, including serving as their Chief Medical Officer from from 1999-2002.
Brad Hargreaves is a co-founder at General Assembly, an urban campus for technology, design and entrepreneurship. As an entrepreneur Brad has created products and companies that bridge online and offline worlds including GoCrossCampus, Aloysius Properties and General Assembly. Prior to co-founding General Assembly, Brad was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Tipping Point Partners, an early-stage investor and incubator in Tribeca. Hussein Rashid is a proud Muslim and native New Yorker. He is currently a faculty member at Hofstra University and Associate Editor at Religion Dispatches. He is the convener of islamicate and a contributor to Talk Islam and AltMuslimah; his work has appeared at City of Brass, Goat Milk, and CNN.com. He has appeared on CBS Evening News, CNN, Russia Today, Channel 4 (UK), State of Belief - Air America Radio, and Iqra TV (Saudi Arabia).
Nathan Kottkamp is a partner with McGuireWoods LLP, in Richmond, Virginia, where he practices healthcare law. In addition to his law degree, Nathan has a Master's in bioethics. Based on his experience serving on several hospital ethics committees, Nathan founded National Healthcare Decisions Day (www.nhdd.org) to increase awareness and provide tools for meaningful advance care planning.
Will Schwalbe is the author of the New York Times bestseller The End of Your Life Book Club. Will is also the founder Cookstr.com, which powers recipe search for companies and organizations including the AARP, Bravo Television, Kaiser Permanente, and American Media. Previously, Will held positions as Senior Vice President and Editor in Chief first of William Morrow and Company and then of Hyperion Books. He is also the co-author, with David Shipley, of SEND: Why People Email So Badly and How to Do It Better (Knopf 2007). Will is on the boards of Yale University Press and the Kingsborough Community College Foundation.
Michelle Palmer has been living and working in the District of Columbia for thirteen years. Her professional areas of expertise include HIV/AIDS, grief/loss, and trauma. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Vermont and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the District of Columbia and a member of the National Associated of Social Workers. Michelle is the Executive Director of the Wendt Center for Loss and Healing; a D.C. based non-profit organization specializing in helping people heal from the pain of loss and/or trauma. In addition to her work in the United States, Michelle lived and worked in Zimbabwe, Africa where she served as a Mental Health Officer for an HIV/AIDS project with Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).
John Whitman is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton MBA Health Care Management Program with a specialization in aging and long-term care. In 2003, John founded The TRECS Institute ("Targeting Revolutionary Elder Care Solutions"), a non-profit organization dedicated to serving as a catalyst to bring about positive changes in the care of our nations seniors, where he serves as Executive Director. John has been a faculty member at The Wharton School’s MBA Health and Management Program for 19 years and is also on the Dean’s Advisory Board at Drexel University’s School of Public Health.
